Uniforms
One question many families have is what items they need to get for the Pack 3599 scout uniform. On this page, we will share the items we ask all scouts to have, and the optional items you can also add if you and your scout would like.
Step 1 - Make your list of what you want to buy.
Required Items
Scout Uniform Shirt
Lions (Kindergarten): t-shirt (may optionally get blue button up uniform shirt instead).
Tigers, Wolves, Bears, and Webelos (1st-4th grades): Blue button up uniform shirt.
Arrow of Light (5th grade): Khaki button up uniform shirt.
Patches: The numerals 3, 5, 9, 9 (9 may be listed online as a 6); Pathway to Adventure Council Shoulder Patch, and the World Crest Emblem (the World Crest Ring that goes around it is optional).
Neckerchief for the scout's den/age, for Lions-Webelos (K-4th). Note: Arrow of Light doesn't have one.
Adventure Colors (small ribbons to display pins earned) for Webelos (4th) and Arrow of Light (5th).
Blue shoulder loops for Arrow of Light (5th) to go on khaki uniform shirt.
Handbook (required only for Lions (K) and Tigers (1st)).
Optional Items
Official Scout Belt & Belt Buckle.
Note: many of the "adventures" in Cub Scouts for grades K-3 are "belt loops" designed to go on the belt. If your kid doesn't wear belts, there are other ways to display the belt loops.Official Scout Hat.
This changes with each rank, like the neckerchief. There isn't one for Arrow of Light.Neckerchief slide. This also changes with each rank; looks nice but gets lost easily!
Patches: World Crest Emblem.
Official Scout Pants/Shorts/Skort (blue for K-4th, green for 5th)
Official Scout Socks.
Red felt patch vest (a way to store/display special extra patches, as most of them do not get sewn onto the scout shirt).
Step 2 - Decide how you want to order.
Option 1 - In Person
You can visit a Scout Shop in person, and be sure that you get the fit and fabrics you prefer. Some are near Metra stations, and most have on-site parking.
Please be sure to check the store's website for any change in hours before you go.
Option 2 - Online
Our Council offers a form where you can place an order with our local Scout Shop, and they will ship to you. Like in-person, you can also choose to pay for sewing services online.
(Note: while you can also order from the National website, in our experience shipping costs are higher.)
